Recipe for vegan red wine cake with chocolate

My friend got a bottle of vintage port for Christmas (2003, fancy, I know) and he offered me some of it. To celebrate this special occasion, I decided to create something sweet, that underlines the flavors of the wine. Since I had some mulled wine from the day before (red wine with cinnamon, cloves, oranges and star anise), my creation became red wine cake with dark chocolate. I also used the mulled wine for the icing, which added a super dreamy and wintery look to the cake.vegan wine cake

It was really delicious! Along with the port it tasted like instant happiness (even though my friend ate the rest of the cake for breakfast).

If you donĀ“t have any mulled wine, just take any red wine you like!vegan wine cake
